F.A.Q.

The main input of the KCD algorithm is a PDB file. Additionally the experimental spectrum ASCII file can be added for normalization purposes
The uploaded file sizes (.pdb and .dat) should be less than 8 MB.
Once your job request is completed, you will receive an email notification. The results of your calculation will also be sent to you via email. The email will contain three items: 1) a secondary structure bar plot graph, 2) a molar ellipticity graph (if there is experimental data available), and 3) molar ellipticity data in a two-column plain ASCII .dat file format.
The normalization file is a plain ASCII data file that contains two columns of data in (x,y) format. Any additional columns will be ignored. The file is "#" commented for all non-data entries. The space symbol is used as the column separator, and the decimal separator is the "." symbol.
Whenever an error occurs, both the user and KCD technical staff will be notified. Our team will then investigate the issue to determine if it is possible to complete the job. If it is possible, we will send the results of the calculation within a couple of working days. The vast majority of job errors are typically caused by poorly shaped protein files or normalization files.
